Description
Cucurbitaceae, Gynostemma pentaphyllum (Thunb.) Makino dry whole
plant. Gynostemma alias barberry, peony medicine cloud, Luo pot at
the end, rooting everywhere. Cucurbitaceae Gynostemma is a
perennial grass liana. Bird toes compound leaves alternate,
tendrils born axils, leaflets often 5 to 7. Flowers unisexual,
dioecious; calyx and corolla lobes 5; male flower composition of
vertebral inflorescences, inflorescence axis slender, many
branches, filaments short, combined into a column, anthers were
born in the top; female flower as a panicle, shorter than the male
inflorescence Ovary inferior, globose, 2 to 3-locular, style 3,
short and spreading, stigma 2-lobed, berry.
